Xenons X3220 Big Boy is an industrial LED UV flatbed printer designed for high-volume production on full-size sheets and heavy rigid materials. Its 3200 × 2000 mm working area allows large components to be printed without dividing the design into smaller sections.

Key features and technology

The machine can be equipped with 2 to 12 industrial Gen6 printheads arranged in a multi-row configuration. This modular setup makes it possible to adapt the printer to the required production capacity, application and colour configuration. A maximum resolution of 2400 dpi provides accurate tonal transitions, sharp details and high-quality graphic reproduction.

The carriage is driven by a MAGLEV magnetic linear drive system. The contact-free design reduces mechanical friction and vibration, improving movement stability during high-speed production. It also supports precise ink droplet placement across the entire printing area.

The printing table is divided into 6 independently controlled vacuum zones powered by two vacuum pumps. This makes it possible to secure both full-size sheets and smaller components positioned in different areas of the table. A reverse airflow function creates an air cushion that helps operators move and remove heavy sheets. The vacuum system can also be activated using a foot pedal.

Pneumatic positioning pins support accurate media alignment, while automatic height measurement allows the printer to work with materials up to 100 mm thick. An anti-collision system protects the printheads against contact with uneven or incorrectly positioned media.

The machine uses liquid-cooled LED UV lamps. The ink is cured immediately during printing, allowing finished components to be moved directly to the next production stage. Reduced heat generation also makes the printer suitable for materials that are more sensitive to high temperatures.

The CMYK + Lc + Lm + White + Varnish configuration provides extensive production capabilities. Light cyan and light magenta improve smooth tonal transitions, white ink supports printing on coloured and transparent substrates, while varnish enables selective finishing effects. The printer also supports simultaneous three-layer printing in a colour + white + colour configuration.

Xenons X3220 Big Boy is designed for large-format production where high output, repeatability and direct printing on finished sheets are essential. White ink enables printing on dark, coloured and transparent materials. It can be used as an undercoat to improve colour saturation, as an independent printed layer or as part of a multi-layer printing process.

Varnish can be used to create selective finishing effects, glossy areas, highlighted details and decorative textures. This allows the machine to handle both standard production work and more demanding premium projects.

The large working area and printing speed of up to 68-76 m²/h make Xenons X3220 Big Boy suitable for producing advertising boards, large-format signage, decorative panels, furniture components, point-of-sale materials, packaging, display stands and full-size sheets intended for further cutting and processing.
